adverb

In a way that is concerned with buying, selling, and making a profit.

Example: The local economy should, in time, prosper commercially as the demand for local and regional products.

Exports are goods and services that are produced in one country and sold to buyers in another.

A substance that can be used or prepared for use as food. Foodstuff.

import

verb

Bring (goods or services) into a country from abroad for sale.

Example: It would be better if food produce was not imported.

local culture

noun phrase

Local culture is everything that we create and share as part of our lives in the place where we live or work.

Example: It is certainly the case that importing food can have a negative effect on local culture.

nowadays

adverb

At the present time, in contrast with the past.

Example: Nowadays, supermarkets are stocked with food products from around the world.

overseas

adverb

In or to a foreign country, especially one across the sea.

Example: The demand for local and regional products remains high resisting the competition from overseas.

stock

verb

Have or keep a supply of (a particular product or type or product) available for sale.

A large self-service shop selling foods and household goods.

transport

Take or carry (people or goods) from one place to another by means of a vehicle, aircraft, or ship.
